Once in a blue moon....

There were times in a week or a month, your desire towards food suddenly make you crave for special menus or different type of cuisine. You didn't plan where to go and certainly you don't know just what to have. This is the time my tummy became second and more important, to satisfy my taste bud!

After a big round around a few roundabouts (just to get the idea where and what to eat), finally, we deceided to dine at Cafe M********, one of the leading hotel's cafe in town. It was a Japanese Buffet nite and after going around for the 'inspiration', we prefer to take the a'la carte menu since it was quite late to start a buffet.

Going through the menu is another time consuming (since we heven't decide whether to take a Malay, Chinese, or Western cuisine) until I came across the word Champignon! (Why is this word so familiar??, I try to recall) Without the answer, I ordered the Champignon as a starter or appetizer and my hubby was having the Calamari with Tartar sauce.

Considering it is an appetizer or starter, we were surprised to see the size of the dish when it was served on our table. See for yourself...

'The Champignon'

It turns out to be a creamy mushroom soup baked in an XL size bread! It was soo tasty and refreshing, you can eat the whole thing! What a great starter....

'The Calamari with Tartar Sauce'

This big plate of starter is actually an XL size fried breaded squid with french fries and cucumber together with tartar sauce. It tasted as 'boom' as its size!

After a 'thrilling' moment with the starter dish, we were overindulged with the main course..(but sorry, no pic since I was too excited and forget 'bout it). It was the Sarawak Black Pepper Steak for me and Nasi Goreng Ikan Masin Sri Siantan for my hubby. No,no,no....it was not an ordinary steak or nasi goreng as what you think about (I dare to say this because if you are a frequent dine out person, you'll surely know which diner is the best for certain dish). Say no more as I don't want to do any justice. Just go and try them for yourself! But for me, it turned out to be a reaalllyyy great unplanned dinner to have...what a great food!
