Super, super, super.....

It has been a while since my first entry...one week?Emm nope..it was 10 days to be exact. Weekend was superb! We were having 'family food fest' where everybody contributed one special course for 'sungkei'(Sarawakian word of berbuka puasa). My hubby(Zai)and I had made a pot roast whole chicken with mushroom gravy, my mom's stir-fried sea shell with lemon grass was marvellous, Nyzsa's, my younger sis(btw I have 3 younger sis, 2 of them were not around for the food fest...working ma) vegie salad was delicous and my maid's (play her role too)fruit jelly was sugar! Oh ya..we also enjoyed our Sarawak Laksa by my dad! The food was superb and we really treasured our time together since it is hard to gather the whole family at one time. And I realized cooking together is a good activity to enlighten your family ties!

Perhaps you're wondering what's the connection between my title and my opening remark. Well, it's all about food. I am about to introduce you "The 8 Superfruit for 2008". It's not too late eventhough we're only 3 months behind the year of 2009. And it's worth knowing than not knowing at all.

To be named as "super", well, you must have the ability beyond others (Superman, Bionic Woman, Spiderman, Catwoman, Ironman...to name few). Same thing for these fruits, they were crowned as Superfruit (according to Asia Food Journal)for their functionality to well being.

The 8 Superfruit for 2008 goes to....(drum beat...)



1. Acai

This Amazonian berry has become famous for its nutrient content and high antioxidant value. Studies have demonstrated that blood antioxidant capacity increases within two hours of consuming a commercial acai juice.



2. Pomegranate


As one of the most popular superfruits, it one of the favorite flavors in the United States. The fruit aril juice provides about 16% of an adult's vitamin C requirement per 100ml serving, and is a good source of vitamin B5, potassium and antioxidant polyphenols.



3. Cranberry


Known for its therapeutic properties, this fruit decreases the incidence of urinary-tract infections.

4. Blueberry



Rich in antioxidants, it also contains few calories.

5. Acerola



Another Amazonian fruit, it has one of the highest vitamin C contents.

6. Goji


Goji is becoming known for its powerful anti-aging properties.

7. Mangosteen



This Asian fruit is one of the newest superfruit!



8. Tamarillo

Referred to as the "lost food of the Incas", it has been developed, re-named and commercialized in New Zealand.

The Cranberry and Blueberry look nice, never taste yet. But that's this fruit that I hv with me all the time, 24 hrs a day ... BlackBerry.

my font n layout...emm..i'll try 2improve, but i think i prefer to make it different for every post..tq anyway, for the support.
